Two Dimensional Flexible Battery Thinner than a Credit Card Developed

Take a look back to when we were kids. VCR’s, large batteries, walkman, cassettes – all the bulky retro stuff. All that stuff made us think that we were at the edge of technological advancement. Then walked in our CD’s, our classic mobile phones, mp3 players and all. These took us to another level of awesomeness altogether. Just when we thought that this is it, we are living in the future; came in our pen drives, hard disks, iPod and what not. Everything got smaller and smarter. Did you ever think that we can potentially use a battery as thin as a plastic wrap? Did you ever fathom that you could wear a flexible battery? A new flexible and ultra-thin battery has been developed which is thinner than a credit card, and this could be integrated into various applications such as wrinkle-smoothing patches, smart cards and watch straps. I mean, WATCH STRAPS! Imagine charging your phone from your watch. This flexible battery, about 0.5 mm thick, achieves its ultra-thinness by positioning ...

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 imported in India for testing

The Galaxy Tab S2 pair, including the 8-inch model in testing and the larger 9.7-inch slate, mark Samsung's departure from the 16:10 aspect ratio in the company's tablet top tier, as well as in the more affordable Galaxy Tab A and Tab A Plus models. The switch to a 4:3 aspect, present in current iPads and Google's Nexus 9, means better web and picture browsing experience but also not quite great news for video fans. Resolution will also be the same as rival models at 2,048x1,536 pixels. Other than that, the tablets will be treated to the company's AMOLED goodness, befitting their upmarket position The specs of the flagship tablets were previously revealed and will include an in-house Exynos 5 Octa chipset, paired with 3GB of RAM. 32GB of storage will be on board and there's no reason to expect the lack of microSD expansion, with all the room that can be found on a tablet. Li-Fi 100-Gbps Speeds

Earlier the data which was transferred to our computer was not accurate and had drops while travelling a long way to its final destination that is you. The data which travelled in the form of light has certain drops in midway due to various reasons. Now, researcher believe it’s all over. How would it sound if we take the light all the way to the computer or TV, projecting it through the air over the last few meters and only converting it to an electronic signal at the end? That sounds amazing isn’t. The researches at Oxford University is working on the similar technique with a system that takes light from the fiber, amplifies it, and beams it across a room to deliver data at more than 100 gigabits per second. Ariel Gomez, a Ph.D. student in photonics at Oxford University who describes the system in IEEE Photonics Technology Letters says that such indoor optical wireless probably wouldn’t replace Wi-Fi, but if compared with data rates of 3 terabits per second and up, it’s cer...

Fly Car 2017

AeroMobil has been around for five years, pursuing the dream of building a functional and (somewhat) practical flying car. Its third-gen prototype was revealed last October, and today at SXSW, AeroMobil CEO Juraj Vaculik revealed a bit more about the company's past and future and the challenges that remain to go from prototypes to fully fledged consumer vehicles - which the company plans to accomplish in 2017. Vaculik and his co-founder Stefan Klein's dream of building flying cars wasn't simply a result of wishing to free their cars from the bonds of earth. As natives of what is the present-day Slovak Republic, they were motivated by a desire to escape the oppression of the then-communist government of Czechoslovakia. Of course, the Iron Curtain fell in that country 25 years ago, but the dream of driving and flying in the same vehicle remained.

The smartphone operating system market is dominated by Google’s open source Android OS while Apple’s closed operating system iOS takes the third place. Microsoft which has its own Windows Phone operating system is a distant third and Microsoft has been trying hard to make a dent in the smartphone OS market but has met with repeated failures. Its only chance of catching up with Android is its planned Windows 10 operating system which it says will be a cross platform single OS for all devices like PC’s, smartphones and tablet.
